The long weekend is over. It came and went. Time is fascinating. It is seconds and minutes. 60 seconds per minute for 24 hours a day. Time is constant. But yet it feel so inconsistent. It can be very slow. And very fast. Five minutes is an eternity when you stand in the rain waiting for the bus at the bus stop and a lovely spring-like four-day long weekend can feel like two seconds. Easter Eve was spent with my grandmother. We had a lovely day feasting on cake and sweets. It was a beautiful early spring day. If this keeps up soon things will start to blossom and bring back colour to nature again. When I walked in Lidingö Centrum to buy our cake, I was like a drug addict craving the sunlight that flooded the square . Its bright light and warm soothing rays on my cheeks started an endorphine rush in […]

FINALLY I get to upload my photos for this week in Jen’s and my photo Project. I didn’t quite get the results I had hoped. I was aiming for some low key lighting of my tulips but failed that – the result came out like just flat light doing nothing for the Beautiful tulips. Luckily tulips are pretty in themselves even in my bad lighting so I put the least failed photo up here. After I failed the tulips I started experimenting with the torch and writing instead. It is getting better but oh my god it’s difficult. To know what you actually write into thin air and then also writing it reversed so that it becomes right in camera. Gee – I have like no idea where my letters go and how I shape them – the letters A, E and H…. come on! This takes a LOT of practice before […]

This would be the entry where I would normally put up this week’s photo project photos, but both Jen and I have been busy so we agreed to post them tomorrow instead. So tomorrow at 3 pm CET my photos will be up. Tomorrow is Good Friday and off work, so I am planning a shopping trip to Panduro to buy some cheap water paint. I have been looking at different water painting techniques on Pinterest and thought I would play around with them. I can’t draw or paint anything that resembles anything. But I can still play around with colours and techniques for my own entertainment and noone to see. I remember playing around with water colour techniques as a child in school or if it was preschool. For example how fun and cool it was to see how the paint just spread out and mixed in different patterns when you splashed paint […]
I start this entry by wishing you a Happy Easter since it is Maundy Thursday when you read this. 🙂 I am looking forward to a long weekend. Four wonderful days off. I will be taking a photo walk, and possibly planning to document my Saturday for the blog some way. Not that anything special is going on but for fun. I will visit my grandmother on Easter Eve so will spend the day with her. So maybe you will get to meet my grandmother. How about that? I haven’t decided what exactly we will do yet. If we just spend the day together at her place or if we go out for a car ride somewhere. All I know is that we will have a good day, granny and I. <3 She is the best mormor (maternal grandmother) in the world even when memory is failing her and things get confusing […]
Easter holiday is approaching. A four-day leave from work. Yay. I can’t wait, because I want to take my camera out again. It has been too long now. My archive of new photos is empty so I have no photos to show in the blog either. I have been so busy lately that I haven’t even been able to get out on photo walks. That will definitely happen this Easter. Keep your fingers crossed there will be some day with nicer photo weather over the holiday. I don’t know about you – but I often lose inspiration a bit this time of the year when it comes to taking pictures. Because now I am just waiting for spring when nature displays some colour again and that first sheer budding green that glows almost transparent in the sunlight. Little creeks running free again after the ice has broken. Hepaticas and anemones flooding […]
We are now through the spring equinox so now the light is definitely beating the darkness. On Sunday it’s daylight saving time finally. The light is officially BACK! Yay. But here in Stockhom the winter is still fighting spring. Snow is falling from the sky and it’s chilly. I love snow but now I have had enough of it. So these winter strikes are annoying, but deep inside I know – spring will prevail and conquer in the end. So that thought is what keeps me going now. It’s like a metaphor of life. If you just hang in there, never give up, never lose hope and the sight of a sunny horizon, good things will come. The bad strikes back, it always does because life is a constant mix of good and bad, but the good always wins if we let it win. The key is also to see the […]
I am beginning to see the light in the blog tunnel again. But today I will only be posting this entry. After I got home yesterday from our customer event I was going to take photos for Jen’s and my photo project this afternoon, schedule today’s blog entries, and a lot of other things. But fell asleep. Have you heard that before? Sleepy head me. So now I am stealing five minutes from work to get this morning’s entry out on time. Thank you for understanding this odd blog week. 🙂 I see the light next week to be back to normal updates again. Can’t wait!
Phew. I have given myself a tough updating schedule in this blog with two entries every weekday. I do it because I love wrting for the blog, but also to keep a regular frequent update. I have had this blog now for a couple of months and I realise it is really hard to keep up with this schedule with interesting content twice everyday when you combine this with a busy full time job. Since I work all day I have to write the entries in the evening before they are published and schedule them to be automatically published 8 am and 3 pm the day after. I also need to have something to write about and when your days consist of work and not much else it is not always easy to find interesting subjects to blog about even though I try. And at times, as you have noticed, I […]
Jag bryter av fredagens blogg med att redovisa veckans fotoprojekt i samarbete med Jen idag istället för igår. Därför kommer jag nu att byta språk till engelska.. 3 …2 … 1 Here we go. I hope my English speaking readers (not that many but still 😉 ), find this entry even though it is not posted on a Tuesday or Thursday. It is time to show this week’s entry in Jen’s and my photo project painting with light. First, a warning. 🙂 This week was all experimental. I just wanted to try to light an object in different colours using bulb mode on the camera. That way I tried to first light the object with say a red light from behind, then I turned off the torch and put on a different colour, say blue, and lit the object on the front with blue. Then turned off the torch again to light […]
After a very foggy morning the sun eventually dissolved the misty air and cleared the sight of a new day. I love Stockholm right now. It has been so sunny and pretty lately with blue sky and yellow sun that is starting to radiate its warmth all the way down to us. I am really for the first time actually getting a true sense of the coming spring. It IS coming. It is not a ”wishful thinking” sensation any more. It definitely is coming. Happy dances inside! I am prepared for setbacks. We have all of unreliable April ahead of us too. But inbetween the setbacks it will get warmer and warmer. Yay!! Smörblomma – buttercup. Soon!! The photo project that we usually put up on Thursday afternoon has been postponed until tomorrow on Jen’s request. Life gets in the way of creativity sometimes. Tomorrow is a Swedish blog day so […]
