Ännu en vacker solnedgång som göms bakom betongen. Även om jag uppskattar att bo högt med fri utsikt så drömmer jag mig bort till en utsikt av solnedgången över en fri horisont där hav och himmel blir till ett. Uppvuxen som jag är på en ö och med långa båtresor på somrarna i barndomen längs Sveriges östra kust så skulle jag inte kunna bo någonstans där jag inte hade vatten eller hav nära mig. After a very foggy morning the sun eventually dissolved the misty air and cleared the sight of a new day. I love Stockholm right now. It has been so sunny and pretty lately with blue sky and yellow sun that is starting to radiate its warmth all the way down to us. I am really for the first time actually getting a true sense of the coming spring. It IS coming. It is not a ”wishful thinking” sensation any more. It definitely is coming. Happy dances inside! I am prepared for setbacks. We have all of unreliable April ahead of us too. But inbetween the setbacks it will get warmer and warmer. Yay!! Smörblomma – buttercup. Soon!! The days are getting longer and brighter. The darkest darkness in the night is still dark but a hint of light breaks through with a little help from city lights. It is only a couple of weeks left until daylight saving time. I can’t wait. From then on, the light will start to really take over the darkness and bring us the bright summer nights in June-July. When even in the darkest of night you can still catch sight of the remaining ambient light of the setting sun, never leaving the horizon. Turning the black nights of winter into the blue nights of summer. The light summer nights are magical to me. . It is such a blessing after the pitch black darkness of winter from early afternoon until late morning. I wish it could be June-July all year around! Time for week 2 of Jen’s and my new photo project painting with light. A very playful theme. For this week I wanted to play with colours, but I don’t have any other light source than my torch. In order to be able to get different colours I used those transparent plastic files you have in an office for example to put papers in. I used a blue one, a red one and a green one. I cut a little piece out of each and held them in front of my torch. It worked. I wanted to try to create patterns and also to play with reflecting backlight. I am especially thrilled the backlight experiment worked so well – just as I imagined! Last week Jen and I started a new photo project – painting with light. My photos for this week will be up at 3 pm CET. But before I leave our previous project of trees behind I’d like to sum it up with my personal favourite photos from those 8 weeks. It was a fun theme to try and portray trees from different aspects. As you know, this blog is about my creative journey. It is not about perfection. It is about experimenting and learning and trying. But I think these photos I will present as my favourites out of the theme are the ones that were a level over experimentation. The better ones. What do you think? Puh. Jag lider av konstant sömnbrist i veckorna. Jag sover nog i genomsnitt sex timmar per natt under vardagarna. Ibland kroknar jag av tröttheten på vardagar utan att jag ens vet om det. Som ikväll. Somnade ifrån det sista blogginlägget. Jag tog en paus för en kopp te och lite surf på nätet. Men det slutade med att jag somnade och vaknade nu vid halv ett på natten. Jag är ju inte ens medveten om att jag somnar. Det sista jag minns är att jag kollade på Netflix och drack te liksom. Och nu är klockan halv ett. Huh!? Inspirationen att komma på något bra att skriva är inte på topp. Bokstäverna flyter ihop på skärmen. Jag får kisa yrvaket för att se vad jag skriver. Det är något alldeles speciellt att älska ett djur. Det är så ovillkorligt. De dömer inte. De bara ger. Den kärlek du ger dem får du tillbaka dubbelt. Ni som har följt bloggen vet att jag älskar katter. Det kan inte ha undgått någon. Är det något som folk lär sig om mig innan de ens lärt känna mig som person, så är det min kärlek till katter. Crazy cat lady – that’s me. En stolt sådan. Jag har alltid drömt om att få ha en egen katt. Det har inte blivit sanning än. Det har aldrig varit något tillfälle i livet då jag har kunnat erbjuda ett bra hem åt en katt. För ska jag ha en katt, så ska jag kunna ge den ett härligt kattliv, annars ska jag inte ha en hur mycket jag än vill. Får kämpa emot viljan att ta hem varenda katt under mina pass […]
Monday. First day of the work week after a weekend that passed way too quickly. As they usually do. Why is it that there is a different time on days off than on workdays? And you wake up all bright and alert right before the alarm clock on your day off, and on a workday you wake up feeling you have only slept for thirty minutes. That is a mystery never to be solved. Waking up at 5:30, snoozing until 5:50. Then I walk out of bed and in a daze to the bathroom to have a zombie-like shower to make me more human.
